You guys remember “Grindhouse”, the two part homage to B-movies from Robert Rodriguez and Quinton Tarantino? While “Planet Terror” was a brilliant, over the top tribute to those sleazy, late night classics and “Death Proof” had it moments, it was the trailers in the middle that lasted longest in fan’s minds. These trailers proved so popular that some spawned their own films, most noticeably “Machete” (which as yet to make it to Irish cinemas for some reason).
These trailers also spawned a SXSW festival and Robert Rodriguez sponsored trailer contest and that contest has led to “Hobo With A Shotgun”, the debut feature film from Jason Eisener. According to IMDB, the plot of “Hobo With A Shotgun” is “A homeless vigilante blows away crooked cops, pedophile Santas, and other scumbags with his trusty pump-action shotgun.” Without a shadow of a doubt, this film is gonna make its way onto my favorite films list. The title, the plot, the poster: its just all perfect. And based on a review by my buddy DiGi over at Movie Buzzers.com, “Hobo With A Shotgun Delivers” everything it promises.
So grab a few friends and a lot of beers and enjoy what looks like the cult film of the year
